Privacy
Bonafide is a demo. To learn which offers help people, it keeps what you answer and which offers it shows you. It never asks for your name.
What we keep
- Your answers: your country, your full ZIP or postal code, the banks you pick with their status and month, and the amounts on the last step.
- The offers you’re shown and the total of the offers open to you, and the ones you open, expand, tick off, log a deposit on or hide. Never an amount you log.
- When you save a plan, open it (with its passphrase or in the same browser), get a new passphrase, add the dates to your calendar, download a year’s bonuses for taxes or save it for your AI, and how many days after making your plan you came back. Never the passphrase itself, and never what’s in a file you save.
- The screens you reach, the site that linked you here and any campaign tags in the link.
- A random id for this browser and another for this visit. They tell visits apart and make “Forget me” work.
- The country your connection comes from, as our host reports it.
Each record has the time it was sent.
Your saved plan
When you make a plan, we save it so you can come back to it: your answers, the plan, and your bonuses as you record them: when you opened each account, the deposits and bonus amounts you log, and when you closed it. It is filed under a passphrase of four words we give you once. We keep only a scrambled form of it, so we can’t show it to you again or look it up. A cookie keeps this browser signed in to your plan; it holds a random code, not your passphrase.
- On another device, open it with your passphrase. Ten tries an hour per network are allowed.
- “New passphrase” moves your plan to a new passphrase. The old one, and every other device, stop working.
- “Save for my AI” makes a file of your plan and your answers on your device. It’s never sent to us, and it never holds your passphrase. Who you share it with is up to you.
- “Delete this plan”, or “Forget me” below, deletes it.
- A plan nobody opens for 12 months is deleted.
- Your saved plan and the records above aren’t linked.
The passphrase’s words come from the EFF’s long word list (CC BY 4.0).
Messages you send
“Something broken? Tell us” sends us your message, the screen you were on and the date the offers were checked, and we note when it arrived. Nothing else: not your answers, your plan or the ids above. It isn’t linked to you, this browser or your saved plan, so “Forget me” can’t find it. Leave out anything personal. Messages are deleted after 12 months.
What we don’t keep
Your name, email, IP address or any account number, unless you type one into a message to us. The demo never asks for them. Our code doesn’t store your IP address or browser details. Our hosts (Vercel, Neon) see IP addresses in their own logs.
Why
To see which offers help people, and to fix the demo when something breaks.
How long
12 months; older records are deleted daily.
Who handles it
- Vercel hosts this page and the small program that receives the records.
- Neon stores the records in its database.
- Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies. It never sees your answers.
- Google Fonts serves the page’s fonts. Like any site your browser loads from, it sees your IP address but nothing you answer.
We never sell or share it.
Forget me
This deletes the records this browser has sent us, and the plan saved from it. It can’t find a message you sent through “Tell us”.
It works per browser. If you used Bonafide on another phone or computer, press it there too. Using the demo again afterwards starts a new id.
Not counted at all
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we keep no records of your visit, not even a page view. Your saved plan, and any message you send us, are still kept.
